Cleaning Contract Manager

Operational Responsibilities

  • To manage the day to day operations for Contact Cleaning.
  • To be responsible for the monitoring of your teams work to ensure the quality of work meets Cinderella standards and specification.Â
  • To schedule contracted works.
  • To ensure that work is completed to schedule and specification
  • To ensure your team is working effectively and productively, reviewing performance in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Work with the General Manager to create a schedule for supervisor Quality Control Checks, and ensure that they are done to schedule.
  • To conduct Quality Audits yourself on a regular basis, to ensure that your Supervisors are correctly checking work.
  • To monitor the supervisors to ensure that sites and employees have sufficient equipment, cleaning chemicals and vehicles they need to do their jobs. Where purchase is required (above agreed authorisation level) to seek authorisation from the General Manager / Managing Director.

People Responsibilities

  • To work with the supervisors to recognise vacancies in the Contract Cleaning and give authorisation to recruit (where applicable) and play a primary role in the cost effective planning, recruiting, inducting and training of new staff.
  • To ensure that supervisors are delivering the correct relevant induction and practical training to all employees to ensure they have the skills to do their jobs effectively and safely.
  • To ensure that training records are kept up to date and signed off by supervisors.
  • Where necessary support the supervisors in completing training and records.
  • To train, supervise and develop members of your teams, including the Supervisors who work directly for you, ensuring their training records are up to date.
  • To conduct formal employee reviews for your supervisors every twelve months and record these on the appraisal form. (employees under 12 months are to have a review every 3 months, based on 3,6,9 and 12 months)
  • To inform the HR Officer or any sickness, lateness, absence that is reported to you or you are made aware of, ensuring personnel files are up to date.
  • To approve any holiday requests and pass onto the HR Officer.
  • To use improvement notices and the disciplinary procedure for your team when required.
  • Provide support to the supervisors when dealing with the disciplinary process to ensure the correct procedure is being adhered to.
  • To attend monthly team meetings with the General Manager and your team.

Company Procedures and Policies

  • To follow and enforce company procedures and policies
  • Put forward ideas and suggestions to the management team, of any changes to policies and procedures for improvement.
  • To communicate relevant business information to your team (including their job role, goals, the overall business performance, safety information, business initiatives etc), and ensure that they are communicating the relevant information to the people who work directly for them.

Safety

  • To check that employees are working safely, and to action safety issues that arise.
  • To follow the company safety rules, and the safety rules provided by the customer on whose site you are working, and to supervise your team and ensure that they are following safety rules and working safely.
  • To abide by and enforce the company health and safety policy.
  • To follow safe working instructions (for example method statements)
  • To write and review risk assessments and method statements for Contract Cleaning with support as required from the health and safety manager / General Manager.
  • To conduct at least 1 day per month completing safety audits of cleaning teams working on site

Quality & Environment

  • Responsible for the divisions quality system and the checking of the procedures and processes are up to date and relevant.
  • Working with the General Manager completing an audit our systems and procedures as part of the annual renewal of our ISO9001 accreditation.
  • Working closely with the management team on developing our environmental procedures and accreditations.

 

 

Requirements

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience of people management in a multi-site operation, and particularly experience of managing large teams of remotely based people who are not directly supervised.
  • Ability to form positive / productive relationships with people at all levels of the business and with customers.
  • Ideally operations experience in the cleaning industry, if not operations experience in a similar manual labour industry
  • Ability to plan their own time, and motivate themselves
  • Ability to multi-task and willingness to have a go at any job in a flat structured organisation.
  • Skilled at recruiting and developing people.
  • A provider of motivation and inspiration to your team, leading to productive business results.
  • Ability to plan resources and manage costs
  • Computer literate
  • Have an attention to details
  • Be a team player
  • Driving licence essential
  • Willing to work irregular hours when required (early mornings, occasional weekends)
  • Experience and knowledge of Health and Safety, would be an advantage

Window Cleaner - Warrington

Window Cleaner – Warrington

Hours: Full Time Monday – Friday

Weekend work and overtime

Job Role:

  • To drive within approximately 100 mile radius of Warrington.
  • To safely clean our customers windows using commercial window cleaning methods.
  • The role involves team working and working outside.
  • This role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced criminal records check.

 

Essential skills / qualifications:

  • Must hold a full driving license valid for use in the UK
  • Experience of commercial or domestic window cleaning
  • Able to work safely and put the safety of yourself and others first at all times
  • Able to communicate with customers in a professional manner
  • Able to work as part of a diverse team
  • Able to get to our Attercliffe office for early starts (before public transport begins)
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK

Desirable skills / qualifications:

  • Health and safety training (for example CSCS card)
  • IPAF, PASMA or other certification to use access equipment
